Publication

Aenonfire is an online magazine published bi-monthly. We have one guiding purpose— declare the source of Talent and inspire You to create. Simple as that. We don't pretend to know all the answers, yet we have a zeal to seek out the origins, the primal source of all things creative. Having the ability to create something is born from a deep down desire that without expression, leads to depression. It is a hunger and thirst to bring to fruition something tangible— something from nothing as it were.

The Name

Aenon is a Greek word coming from the Hebrew term "ay-yin". It means "springs" 1 and has other translations as "a cloud; fountain; his eye" 2, and it is one of the locations where John the Baptist baptized. 3 Aenon is primarily associated with water, and water is a symbol of many things, among them cleansing, refreshing and also birth, which has among its associations— beginnings. The beginning of the name Aenonfire was inspired from the words of John the Baptist 4:

I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am— so much greater that I'm not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
— John The Baptist

Here we see- amongst many other things, water and fire together. The relationship between water and fire here is one of the relationship between John and Jesus. John came to wash and Jesus followed to refine. John gathered together all of our imperfections in a collective pool and presented them to Jesus, imperfection meeting perfection.

Presentation

In the same manner, we as artists and creatives need to present our talents for refinement to the refiner of our talents. As with John, it is essential that each of us fulfill our course and decrease as the Lord increases in us. This is not something to be shy of or in some way try to avoid, thinking that we will lose who we are and no longer have a voice. It is in fact quite the opposite, God has created us as individuals with these expressed talents, and as we bring them to Him, He will refine them, make them stronger, more powerful than we could ever imagine.

What an amazing thing it will be to hear the Lord say to us when we meet Him face to face, how pleased He is with our artistic lives, how He was able to create through us, and we being able to co-create with Him; in our artwork, in our music, our writings, our acting, our everything creative.
